Are you a Video on Demand Engineer looking for your next exciting role? My client is one of the world’s leading multinational media and entertainment businesses and they are currently recruiting a Video on Demand Engineer who will be based in their offices in London. The successful Video on Demand Engineer will deliver technical non-linear solutions within the company’s existing MAM system as part of a VOD scheduling migration project.
Role and Responsibilities
• Assist where required with the daily operation of the company’s media asset management and workflow system
• Work with other technical, planning & operational departments to develop & deliver a “VOD scheduling” project
• Develop scripting solutions for the Non-Linear workflows within the company’s MAM system.
• Create & maintain documentation of the Non-Linear scripting solutions and workflows
• Provide technical & operational advice to teams as required
• Track and resolve support issues within the Non-Linear workflows as they arise
• Liaise with third party platforms regarding any changes required for Non-Linear content deliveries

Skill Set
• Capable of working well under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• The candidate should have a qualification in a technical media or computer programming field with experience developing solutions using scripting languages
• Comfortable working with XML for metadata exchange
• Ability to solve technical problems efficiently
• Exceptionally well organised and methodical
• Able to develop scripting solutions in JavaScript, PHP & bash
• Knowledge of standard broadcast file formats and workflows
• Experience of working with/supporting with Evertz Mediator would be advantageous
• Proactive in dealing with any issues or concerns
• The candidate will have experience working in & developing scripts in JavaScript, PHP & Bash.
• Knowledge of file based workflows and standard broadcast file types
• Candidates would be expected to be highly proficient in working in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience working with video transcoding solutions (such as Rhozet Carbon Coder) would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working with the Cablelabs ADI Specification and developing XML Parsing solutions would be preferable
• Excellent computer skills in key packages – word, excel & PowerPoint
• Previous experience in a similar environment (broadcast or broadcast technology environment) would be advantageous
