My exciting and creative client is looking for a hands on talented Technology Programme Manager to work on a security driven projects. This is a fixed term contract and so a competitive SALARY and benefits package is offered. The role will be for 12 months based in central London with travel to other offices. The ideal candidate will have a background in security.

The Technology Programme Manager will be responsible for shaping and managing multiple projects associated with delivering Technology related projects. The Technology Programme Manager will be responsible for a specific range of IT capability and relevant project sponsors, typically characteristics are likely to be:

• Programme budget £1m+
• On time delivery of projects with limited business interruption
• Ensure technology project direction meets technical principles
• Manage the Programme budget and benefits realisation
• Manage Programme dependencies
• Ensure project managers manage project dependencies
• Manage and guide project managers
• Management and coordination of multi-party delivery teams (internal and external)

Role and Responsibilities
As Technology Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
• Lead, shape and manage the early inception and initiation of projects
• Continually define the programme organisation, governance and sponsorship
• Influence programme roadmap so it is in the correct sequence based upon dependencies (business, exits and integration)
• Support and validate the development of business cases for your programmes projects
• Monitoring the programme budget and identify risks to budget and mitigation actions
• Ensuring each project and the overall programme is resourced appropriately with the correct experience, skills and roles
• Monitor and manage all project escalations and share
• Proactively manage the need for escalations with timely reviews of project issue, risk, change, mitigation plans, budgets and dependencies
• Review and validate each project status reports prior to programme submission
• Create, update and track programme performance against milestone plan
• Owning vendor management activities, ensuring that they are tightly controlled and that appropriate sign off and reviews are in place
• Support each project manager deliver successfully to agreed acceptance criteria and handover to business as usual teams
• Communicate effectively with the project sponsor, Steering Group and stakeholders, translating project delivery speak to business terminology to promote business confidence and buy-in
• Lead, support and motivate the programme team; leading by example and driving project momentum and energy
• Addressing performance issues in a timely manner within correct protocol
Financial responsibilities:
• Accountable for scoping, planning and delivering projects
• Supervisory responsibilities
• Direct: up to 5+ project managers
• Indirect: Multiple project teams, with new vendors, outsourced service providers and new resources

Skill Set
The successful Technology Programme Manager will have the following skills and experience:

• Programme management experience in managing large cross-functional teams
• Requires experience of implementing large transformation programmes (enabled by technology) into large federated organisations
• Proven track record of influencing senior level management and stakeholders
• Maintain business buy-in and adoption to the solution throughout the delivery lifecycle

Formal education or equivalent:
• Strong academic credentials from coupled with sound technical capabilities
• Higher degree desirable (MBA etc.)
• PRINCE Practitioner, PMI or equivalent

• Open positive attitude promoting confidence and credibility to team, peers and stakeholders; positive engagement and self-promotion to stakeholders
• Strong leadership qualities, i.e. Honest, Competent, Inspiring, Intelligent, Assertive
• Strong facilitation and negotiation skills, acting ethically in all situations
• Coaches and supports staff, facilitating staff and maximising performance
• Embraces diversity and proactively manages performance issues
• Ability to influence peers, project team, sponsor, Steering Group and wider business stakeholders
• Influencing executive stakeholders at executive levels
• Communicates effectively (written and verbal) at executive level
