My client, one of the largest publishers in the UK, is currently recruiting an Syndication Sales Executive to join their fast growing team. You must be innovative, driven and a sales focused individual to join the recently created International Sales Team within the Syndication department.
The successful Syndication Sales Executive will be required to meet and exceed revenue targets by licensing content to clients across the World and be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of titles, content and the international media landscape. As Syndication Sales Executive you will be tasked with thriving on identifying prospects, sales opportunities and closing deals whilst equally at home packaging and selling complex contract based deals for in depth news feeds to clients and reportage photography in one off deals.

Role and Responsibilities
As the International Syndication Sales Executive your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring full compliance with CRM processes and input all sales leads, opportunities and associated outcomes in real-time
• Ensuring you are aware of the value of each sale by having a good understanding of our royalty commitments and any cost of sale
• Maintain up to date knowledge of all systems used by the Syndication team and input to the development roadmap of ‘local systems’ e.g. CRM, ecommerce & Profile websites.
• Creating opportunities to develop new sales/contract opportunities with customers by presenting our products and services to them
• Developing creative new ‘content packages’ and services for sales
• Ensuring your customers receive daily mail shots (as appropriate) and have access to view relevant collections via our e-Commerce platforms
• Ensuring all customer inquiries/opportunities are dealt with promptly and efficiently
• Cold calling where appropriate to develop business opportunities. This process includes new and existing clients with new products
• Developing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders e.g. Contributors, Editorial departments, etc
• Driving monthly sales to achieve/exceed personal targets and in support of the overall revenue targets
• Working with and provide direction to Sales Support team in support of meeting our customers’ requirements
• Following up with lapsed customers to understand their requirements with a view to re-establishing a business relationship
• Assisting with the development and implementation of marketing strategies to existing and new customers to drive sales opportunities
• Clearing rights with contributors where the rights status is unclear or they are not yet signed up to syndicate
• Liaise with Editorial departments to establish content rights and clearance.
• Having an excellent understanding of your sector/territories and continually look for opportunities to extend the scope of the company customer base
• Providing cover across the team as required
• Determine annual sales strategy for your sector and input to overall department sales strategy.
• Participating in sales/creative meetings to share customer experiences and content information/opportunities
• Developing a good working knowledge of syndication contracts, including agent agreements, and any exclusivity offered which needs to observed
• Be involved in the planning process and exhibiting at trade shows to maximise the effectiveness

Skill Set
As Syndication Sales Executive, you will be responsible for the following:

• Excellent understanding of the sales cycle, including personal and departmental performance against targets
• Strong understanding of copyright and content licensing
• Good understanding of best practice and opportunities across the industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to use SAP accounting system
• Read trade press, quality press and relevant information to maintain up to date knowledge for the media and syndication marketplace
• Demonstrate strong team working skills, including supporting the department and colleagues by selling across sectors
• Proven prospecting, negotiation and closing skills
• Display a positive ’can do’ and results driven attitude
• Experience of working in a sales focused environment with the ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
• Demonstrate the ability to self-motivate and show resourcefulness
• Ability to work and make decisions at speed to ensure customer deadlines are achieved
• Good understanding of Salesforce CRM software
