Search Analyst - London

Are you a leading driven and passionate Search Analyst? An excellent opportunity is available to join a global industrial supplier based in central London. As a Search Analyst you will have a significant influence on my clients digital offering at an early stage in the development of the digital platform. My client is looking to develop search functionality on their website and to help connect customers to their products as intuitively and quickly as possible. As a successful Search Analyst you will play a key role in understanding and improving the search experience on the site, through the use of website data and user testing.

As a Search Analyst you will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders across the business to define areas in order to enhance the search engine, identify how specific features impact customer behavior and support the implementation of those changes on the site.

Role and Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities as a successful Search Analyst:

• Investigate areas for on-site search improvement using website performance data.
• Work closely with product and engineering to define tests and changes.
• A/B test changes to search, identify the impact across a range of metrics and how that relates to customers’ ability to find products on the website.
• Communicate results of tests and changes to the site.
• Develop business cases for implementing new features relating to the search engine.
• Work with the product information team to maintain and improve data and dictionaries used by the search engine.
• Monitor and report on search performance and the impact on sales.
• Domestic and International travel is required.
• Collaborates closely with other related operation and product development teams.

Skill Set
The successful Search Analyst will have the following skills and experience:

• At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent analytic and problem solving ability.
• A strong degree in a numeric subject preferably math, sciences or engineering.
• Knowledge of search marketing, e-commerce and website analytics e.g. Google Analytics.
• Experience in running and interpreting A/B tests.
• Understanding of SQL and data analysis.
• A passion for the digital space and an awareness of best practices, trends and opportunities.
• Ability to communicate complex problems in a clear and concise way.
• Experience working with ElasticSearch and/or SOLR a bonus.
