PMO Manager - London

Type: Fixed Term Contract Full-Time

A global publishing company are looking for a talented and experienced PMO Manager. As a PMO Manager you will supporting a diverse group of projects and programmers in the portfolio. The successful PMO Manager will be repowering into the Head of Business Improvement and operating as part of a wider business team.
Role and Responsibilities
As the PMO Manager your responsibilities include:

• Monitor the risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
• Ensure projects are effectively planned, controlled and managed to agreed time and budget
• Provide an assurance role for the larger, strategic programmes
• Leading the PMO hub to provide reporting and support to projects / programmes across the portfolio
• Have an understanding of the objectives of all programmes and projects in the portfolio
• Act as a champion for the programme / project standards, lifecycle governance and gating
• Ensure the PMO is constantly updating its tools, templates, governance and reporting so that the maturity of service offered continues to build within the organisation
• Provide pastoral care, line management support and cultural development for the small PMO team

Skill Set
Essential skills for the PMO Manager:

• Proven ability to priorities workload effectively in line with business priorities and possessing a “Can do” attitude – willing to turn a hand to whatever task is required
• In depth knowledge and experience of the project lifecycles / governance and best practice such as P30, Prince 2, MSP
• Project reporting, risks and issues reporting, dependency management
• Proficient use of excel spreadsheets including; SUM, COUNT, IF, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, insert list, standard excel charts
• Expert SharePoint user with extensive experience using and manipulating lists for the management of large amounts of data and analysis and reporting from this
• Competent in other Microsoft tools
• Excellent communicator and able to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, third party consultants and technical experts across the business
• Work to a high degree of accuracy with very good attention to detail and an analytical yet pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Delivery focused with the ability to quickly understand the requirements of the task in hand and produce a quality result first time
• Team player and showing a dynamic approach to working and supporting the team and contributing to the portfolio office team discussions
• Organised and proactive with a track record of taking the initiative and seeing ideas through to successful delivery
