IT Project Manager - Deployment - London

One of the largest media organisations in the world is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager - Deployment. You will be working on business critical core technologies for the client including SAP and bespoke applications. You must be able to demonstrate experience of ERP ideally SAP deployment within a large organisation. Experience with contracts and rights would be a great advantage. This is a fixed term contract for one year and will require travel over several sites in and outside London.
Role and Responsibilities
As the IT Project Manager - Deployment your responsibilities will include:
• End to end deployment process for a project (or number of projects) including creation of a Schedule of Events / Runbook / Service Transition Plan.
• Conduct technical walkthroughs of the relevant documentation.
• Working with the Project Manager develop, refine and execute full-scale deployment (and backout) plans including the organisation and management of the tasks and resources (both internal and 3rd party) required to bring about a successful deployment.
• Monitor and manage the delivery of deployment supporting documentation (e.g. Implementation Strategies, Technical Implementation Plans, Change Records, Schedule of Events) against time and quality.
• Lead 'Command and Control' during deployments tracking all tasks against time and quality.
• Manage any issues raised during deployment ensuring these are communicated / escalated to the appropriate level.
• Issue communications/progress reports to all relevant stakeholders at defined points during the deployment.
• Plan and manage dress rehearsals as required.

Skill Set
As the IT Project Manager - Deployment your skills will include:
• experience in managing and leading teams comprising an array of technical and business representatives in a globally dispersed, matrix managed environment.
• Demonstrable experience of having assumed full responsibility and accountability for multiple business critical deployment.
• Knowledge and experience of a variety of delivery methodologies spanning waterfall, iterative and agile.
• Highly effective communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills.
• Detailed understanding of risk, issue and dependency management.
• Proficiency in the use of a variety of project management tools and processes in a work environment e.g. MicrosoftProject (MSP), Primavera, PlanView, etc.
• Broad understanding of technology concepts and platforms, technical infrastructure and software technologies, including SAP.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications including: MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
• Ability to rapidly identify and accurately document changes to Business.
• Processes arising during deployment.
