Digital Associate Director - Birmingham

An amazing opportunity has come up to join one of the world’s leading media agencies as a Digital Associate Director. Your role is to jointly run a virtual P&L for their group and oversee digital and offline planning and buying teams. Primarily the role is to develop client relationships, understand their key challenges, provide forecasts and growth opportunities. As Digital Associate Director you will be an experienced digital person as you will help lead and shape their digital offering whilst building key relationships to ensure they are delivering best in class for their clients.

The key to being the successful Digital Associate Director is to ensure strong strategic plans are developed for all your group's clients across a spectrum of channels. This includes understanding and implementing internal planning process; overseeing briefs, and implementing the strategic insights into the planning process.

Role and Responsibilities
As Digital Associate Director, you will be responsible for the following:

Financial Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the financial running of your accounts.
• Monthly forecasting is required showing P&L shifts and progress versus targets
• Ensure your teams understand the importance of trade insurance and how it applies to each of your clients
• Good credit control on all your accounts, including ensuring all procedures are adhered to, such as Purchase Orders; doing all required to ensure debts do not exceed company policy
• Help ensure all compliant procedures are followed by the client account teams
• Ensure good administration is undertaken on all accounts

Business Responsibilities:

• Building client relationships at a strategic and operational level through client contact
• Work closely with our clients to identify their specific marketing needs and business objectives, and then identify and implement their products and services that help achieve the client’s goals
• Actively seeking out opportunities to develop incremental business with key clients
• Verbal and written briefing of client requirements back to the agency team
• Ensure you are the day-to-day point of contact for your senior clients’ digital requirements
• Understand your clients’ marketing and business objectives, and the competitive landscape
• Cross sell all services to clients where appropriate
• To have knowledge/understanding of their RWI and Business Science offerings and their purpose, and to be able to sell these solutions into clients.
• To understand remuneration contract and profit expectations of the business
• Organise and run meetings both internally, with clients and media owners
• Listening skills: - how to take a brief, ask open-ended questions, take account of client concerns
• Manage the actions from each meeting across all digital activity & take responsibility for leading accounts managing the output of team members with different channel skills
• Manage upwards to ensure that you have the full support of the senior management team in delivering your tasks and managing yours and the team's workloads

People Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for team development. Ensuring all members understand their roles in development of the team members below them
• To work constructively with other members of the agency. Ensure that all internal teams work well together
• Work on being inspirational within the team. Give clear visions and expectations
• Create more cohesive team energy
• Help develop the next generation of people
• Liaison with training team and understand training needs of each of your team
• Share the good work you and your team do with the rest of the planning team and wider agency
• Comply with the internal personal development process and continued growth of team members
• Be able to set objectives for both clients business and member of the team
• Be comfortable in managing both internal and external expectations

• To be able to evaluate the effect of a campaign as a whole and media’s contribution to it
• Clear understanding of dynamics, costs and potential of each media
• Have a sense of gravitas with your team and clients, taking a calm and considered approach to your dealings with stakeholders internally and externally
