This is an amazing opportunity to join as Customer Support Engineer EMEA and assist a global cloud-based, content delivery network organisation. As the Customer Support Engineer, you will assist the global infrastructure while working with customers and the internal team.

Our client helps companies save money while increasing the performance of their websites and web-based applications. As the successful Customer Support Engineer you will have the opportunity to contribute to future system design and processes for improving current and new services, all while running a globally distributed 24x7x365 critical network relied upon by many global companies.

Role and responsibilities

As Customer Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
• Work closely with Company’s customers, infrastructure service providers, network and system engineers, and software developers to perform root-cause analysis and prompt resolution of hardware, network and software issues affecting the company’s products and solutions
• External SLA management
• Solve complex issues related to various components of the company’s global CDN infrastructure
• Perform daily Systems Administration tasks to keeping the network up and performing optimally
• Provide notification to customers in the event of CDN infrastructure issues
• Create and document system processes and tasks related to keeping the network up and performing optimally

Skill set

As the right Customer Support Engineer you will have the following:
• Great customer and communication skills
• Must be reliable and heavily resourceful in solving issues
• Clearly articulate and present analytics approaches, plans and results to the business
• Proficient in HTTP, Web applications, Web Performance and Content Delivery applications
• Knowledge of scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.) and command-line utilities (curl, dig, traceroute/MTR, etc.)
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP and DNS
• Familiarity with web server technologies (i.e. Apache, lighttpd, IIS, etc.)
• General understanding of both Unix and Windows operating systems
• Certifications in relevant technology fields (i.e. MCTS, CCNA, Linux+, etc.)
• Must have System Administration experience
• Experience with a remote, international reporting structure highly desired
