Custom Publishing Manager - London

Type: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 pa basic, upto £10,000 variable

An opportunity has arisen with one of our leading Publishers who create specialist content to the world’s leading media brands. The company is currently looking for a Custom Publishing Manager to support their Custom Publishing division for new and existing clients. After achieving great success and brand recognition via its special interest reports desk, the company is leveraging its brand, know-how and ambition in hiring a new Custom Publishing Manager.

The core purpose of the Custom Publishing Manager role is to pitch and sell fully integrated custom content solutions directly to clients and to create long-term relationships with key accounts and large brands. The Custom Publishing Manager will research and target a particular sector, engage and sell content solutions to senior decision-makers at organizations, manage and facilitate a smooth production process and help the team in delivering a premium product and service.

Role and Responsibilities
As the Custom Publishing Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Work closely with Project Managers, design and production team and editorial staff to meet a client’s exact publishing needs.
• Your role will be is a client-facing sales role and you will need to be able to demonstrate strong business development skills as well as a desire and hunger to create new business relationships and win new accounts.
• The candidate will keep an active wide network of marketing professionals within leading B2B companies, in order to kick-start the consultative sales process.

Skill Set
The successful Custom Publishing Manager will have the following skill set:
• Working in a vibrant and ambitious editorial/agency environment, you will have a minimum of 3 years consultative sales/business development experience
• Proficiency using Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in InDesign a plus!
• Strong interest in current affairs/business/publishing
• Proven strong commercial acumen and research skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Superb communication skills in spoken and written English
• Clear entrepreneurial flair and happy to work as a growing business
• Able to work and perform in a high pressured environment
• Sense of humour and outgoing
• Strong academic background, a 2:1 Bachelor degree minimum from a top 10 University
