One of the largest publishing organisations in the world is looking for an experienced Business Partnership Manager. The Business Partnership Manager owns the “interface” between Technology and specific business areas, building an in-depth understanding of the people and processes in those areas and overseeing the delivery of all their technology requirements. As the Business Partnership Manager you will regularly assess the end-to-end experience of technology/technology services, ensuring these are continuously improved.
Role and Responsibilities
As the Business Partnership Manager your responsibilities will also include:

• Own the identification and engagement of all relevant stakeholders and contributors for all technology solution designs, supplier selections, developments and support (including superusers)
• Act as a key member of the BPS team, actively contributing to its continuous improvement and championing the department, its members and its relationships across the Technology division and the business
• Collaborate with business analysis, architecture, implementation and service delivery teams to define the scope of technical projects, directly supporting them in identifying and defining goals, risks, issues, and resource requirements
• Undertake regular satisfaction and requirement evaluations for all assigned business areas according to defined standards
• Build a detailed and in-depth understanding of the roles, processes and priorities of these areas and ensure that understanding is shared back across the Technology division
• Act as a principal point of management contact in Technology for all assigned business areas, directly coordinating the engagement of other BPS teams and acting as a point of escalation for both the business and Technology to resolve outstanding issues or concerns
• Champion the Technology division to all assigned business areas, communicating processes, policies and news as appropriate
• Directly support the supplier selection, business engagement and project implementation teams in providing insight/information for and evaluating proposals (internal and external) and business cases for all new technology investments impacting assigned business areas
• Contribute as requested to the development and management of the company’s technology strategy, architecture, roadmap and policies/standards
• Build highly collaborative and supportive relationships across Technology, including with Implementation and Operational services teams as well as with 3rd parties and other internal businesses globally, as appropriate.

• Proven track record of business relationship management or similar
• Great relationship-builder, presenter, documenter and communicator
• Priorities/manages workload well
• Experience of directly managing demand and technology pipelines
• Great team-player
• Experience of working as part of multi-skilled technical teams through the project life cycle
• Highly (self)motivated and proactive
• Business and Customer focused
• Publishing industry experience
• Extensive technology support/service delivery experience
• Understanding and experience of project management
• Experience of supporting a finance function from a technology perspective
• Completer-finisher, delivers on promises
• Experience of contract/3rd party management
• Non-publishing industry experience in a similar role
