Business Development Director - London

Type: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 pa basic, upto 5% variable

Our clients is a young and quickly growing consultancy that helps their clients define and deliver great consumer digital products. Due to expansion they are now looking to recruit for an energetic and motivated Business Development Director. The successful Business Development Director will be the driving force for generating new leads and contacts to be converted to new business in the B2B and B2C space. As the Business Development Director you must have a passion for digital products and be driven to help our client to achieve its growth targets. As the Business Development Director, you will bring a range of skills and experience to your role and will have a background of business development. Your personal values will strongly align with our clients: integrity, transparency, honesty and work-life balance. Occasional UK and international travel may be required.
Role and Responsibilities
As Business Development Director, you will be responsible for the following:

• Understand the proposition and promote our clients brand
• Contribute to the business development strategy
• Gain familiarity with our clients, current and previous work in order to be able to talk confidently about the experience of our business
• Lead and manage the selling process
• Identify opportunities. Conduct research on target clients. Source leads and opportunities
• Maintain a high level of sales activity on a weekly basis, develop sales assets for campaigns

• Track and report sales activity

• Know the competition and keep track of market trends

• Build strong relationships

• Create and deliver compelling presentations

• Demonstrate thought leadership within our domain

• Overall owner of the business development process

• Build and maintain the target client list

• Assist with planning, organisation and delivery of marketing activities

• Assist with writing proposals and statements of work

• Ensure our clients high quality standards are met at all times

• Build case studies from current projects to share with clients
• Participate in and assisted with creating and developing PR opportunities

Skill Set
As Business Development Director, you will be responsible for the following:

• Superlative written and verbal communication skills
• Client and stakeholder management
• A can do attitude. You don’t need hands on management
• Knowledge & interest in industry trends
• Experience and proven track record in a similar business development role essential.
• Experience within the publishing industry
• Desirable to have established relationships with potential key accounts.
• Effective problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to assess situations, evaluate options and define strategies
• Experience tracking / reporting sales activity
• Wide industry contact list
• Tenacity
• Creativity
