Business Analyst - London

Type: Fixed Term Contract Full-Time
Duration: 12 Months
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 pd

One of the largest media organisations in the world are looking for a talented and experienced Business Analyst to work on a key programme of work focusing on delivering change within their digital division. As Business Analyst you will be part of the progressive digital division who are looking to further refine their web properties as well as deploy and champion their current web platform across their UK enterprise.

The ideal Business Analyst will be used to working with digital teams, senior executives, 3rd parties such as agencies, software developers (internal and external) and technical teams as well as project/programme managers.

Role and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as Business Analyst will include:

• Work closely with the Business Subject Matter Experts to understand the business requirements for their stream of work.
• Create and maintain User Stories and their associated acceptance criteria.
• Test and accept or reject User Stories on behalf of the business.
• Active engagement and management of stakeholders.
• Support Product Backlog refinement, Sprint Planning, Support Sprint Reviews and Retrospective meetings.
• Work closely with the development team to address questions and provide clarification on requirements during the Sprint.
• Create UAT scripts and assist with the execution of UAT.
• Support the SCRUM team(s) in the system/product demo for key programme stakeholders.
• Support the Product Manager in prioritising and confirming the minimum set of requirements.
• Map and redesign business processes required to manage the new platform.
• Ensure requirements (business, functional and non-functional) are sufficient for design and development, and work with delivery teams to clarify requirements and
• Work with Technology teams and other service providers to define and evaluate solution proposals for viability and appropriateness.
• Ensure that requirements are clear and traceable at the testing stage
• Production of testing materials (e.g. UAT scripts) and support for testing process
• Production of documentation to support service transition
• Production of training material and delivery of training
• Support for solution delivery, providing project management support and quality assurance

Skill Set
Required skills as a Business Analyst:

• Customer/Business focused
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent team player
• Effective communicator across all business levels
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Highly analytical
• Good negotiation skills

• Working knowledge of Agile (Scrum)
• Able to create and manage backlogs and very competent writing and managing user stories
• Experience with Web Content Management Systems
• Experience producing business process mapping and modelling
• Experience as a BA across the entire SDLC
• Experience with UX work and agencies
• Able to confidently write and deliver presentations to business and technical stakeholders
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager not essential but a distinct advantage

• Experience working on eCommerce systems and platforms – ideally through the SDLC
• A range of technical project experience, ideally with experience of delivering solutions for media and publishing organisations
• Understanding and experience of project management methodologies and frameworks and change management processes
