BI Manager - London

A BI Manager is needed to work with a prominent figure within the music industry to support the BI & Distribution Manager in forming the strategy and vision for the company’s BI, reporting and data management strategy. The BI Manager will be managing the day to day operations of the BI team and providing a robust framework for the team to work within. As the BI Manager you will use the framework to prioritise and assign work, track progress and advise the BI & Distribution Manager and other stakeholders or progress and risks.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful BI Manager roles and responsibilities will include:

• You will proactively manage personal development, in order to increase performance levels and provide opportunities for career development
• Use the framework to prioritise and assign work, track progress and advise the BI & Distribution Manager and other stakeholders or progress and risks
• The Business Intelligence Manager will use their skills and experience to give direction and guidance to the BI Analysts in all aspects of their job
• You will build, develop and maintain a framework for the Business Intelligence team to work within
• Gather requirements for new reporting and use knowledge of the business and systems to make recommendations for content and technical approach
• Providing accurate, professional and timely responses to all communications from internal stakeholders and external licensees
• Exploring ways to effectively visualise our Money In, Money out & Master data
• To optimise team and individual performance through coaching, training and development of staff, identifying and managing, by instigating remedial action for areas of underperformance through HR policy and procedure
• You will have the opportunity to add value to reporting and analysis by applying critical thinking and an underlying knowledge of business functions
• Providing support to any departmental or inter-departmental initiatives, building positive relationships throughout the company while ensuring

Skill Set
The successful BI Manager Essential Skills:

• Strong problem solving skills and ability to logically analyse complex requirements, processes, systems
• Technical expertise in a number of areas of reporting and visualisation
• Flexible and adaptive
• Experienced in complex, high volume, data analysis and reporting in a data critical environment
• Willing to go the extra mile
• Knowledge and awareness of wider market trends and advancements in BI
• Educated to a minimum of a degree level (or equivalent) standard
• Is self-motivated and disciplined
• Detail-oriented, with a willingness and aptitude to explore, understand and troubleshoot datasets and data inconsistencies
• Comfortable dealing with uncertainty by creating structure and prioritising effectively, with the ability to manage complexity and several projects simultaneously
• Experienced in management
• Experienced in providing insight in a data driven environment. This would involve designing dashboards and building visualisations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of Business Intelligence and Visualisation, including Data Warehousing
• Proficient user of SQL databases and analytics tools
• Calm under pressure

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in data visualisation techniques
• Knowledge of dimensional modelling including Kimball methodologies
• Experience with Tableau
• Knowledge and understanding of the music industry
